It is nice to have antique items around your house, thier age reminds you of history and how things change so quickly. Often antique furniture is a prime example of how things can be made to last – you can purchase some pieces of antique furniture that are over 200 years old and still going strong. But not everyone can afford such fantastic furniture! At auction you can however find excellent examples of older furniture and fittings that are of durable excellent quality at a similar price to new but lesser quality furniture. Personally with furniture I think secondhand is great if its a good solid quality piece. For those of you that haven’t heard of Banksy, Where have you been? The graffiti artist who was supposedly outed as Robert Banks has produced some of the most satirical and thought provoking graffiti art ever. Adored by millions, supported by many banksy has developed a huge following worldwide. Any time you see a real banksy for sale its likely to be for high values, but you can find a whole host of prints and similar in our Banksy Section now!

You may not even realise it, the fact you own a first edition. Lurking on bookshelves and hiding in cupboards, first edition books look typically like any other, its only within the sleeve or first few pages that you can discover the true origins of the book. First prints are usually worth a few quit more than the reprints, the older the more the difference. Some first edition books have been known to go at auction for millions of pounds.
